Sending me an email is the next step. After that, we're in this together! I will respond to your email within 24 hours. We will schedule a 15-minute phone consultation where we briefly discuss the issues you would like to address in therapy. We will determine if an introductory session is appropriate and schedule it.
The first session can sometimes be the hardest. You will fill out paperwork, I will ask questions about your life and experiences. We will explore the struggles and issues that have brought you to therapy.
Most therapy requires a minimum of 6 to 10 sessions. Often therapy begins with sessions scheduled weekly and as issues are addressed and strategies employed we begin to space out sessions to every other week, once a month, and so on. This is your individual journey so we will move forward in a way that works best for you and your therapeutic needs.

Most major insurance companies cover mental health therapy. Please call your insurance customer service representative or look at your plan online to determine your coverage and co-insurance rates. I am a universal provider through Aetna, Amerigroup, Cigna Health Partners, Iowa Total Care, Midlands Choice, United Behavioral Health (Optum), and Wellmark BCBS.
If you choose to pay out of pocket for therapy services, they are billed at the following rates:

The first session is typically 45-60 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 45 minutes.
Meeting in person, at my office, is the ideal setting for therapy. However, I do offer telehealth sessions. You will want to check with your insurance company to make sure that they cover telehealth sessions.
